World Series of Poker 2001 was full of thrill and excitement. It was in the last minute the decision was made, who was the winner. Both the players had fair chance to win the tournament, but fate was with Mortensen, which allowed him to have a breath-taking win.

At the final, there were five players. Two of them were Phil Hellmuth and Carlos Mortensen. Among other three were Dewey Tomko, Stan Schrier and Phil Gordon. Before the “FLOP” there was about $150,000 in the pot. Hellmuth had with him QC, 10H. However, Mortensen sat with QD, JD. The “FLOP” came as QS, 9D and 4S. This allowed both of them to have a pair of “Q”. However, a JH and AS in the “TURN” and in the “RIVER” made Hellmuth to satisfy with the fifth place.

Finally, it was Mortensen and Tomko who were there till the last round. Mortensen had KC, QC and Tomko sat with AS, AH. Mortensen had 2-1 chip lead. The “FLOP” was JH, TC and 3C. This gave advantage to Mortensen as it made nut straight draw, king high flush draw and also two over cards. After betting for $400,000 Tomko called with last $1,500,000.

It was 3D on the “TURN” and slightly broke some hopes of Mortensen. But 9D on the “RIVER” allowed him to make the nut-straight combination. Thus Tomko became the runner-up for the second time and Mortensen became the winner and received $1,500,000.

The Poker Nordica is fully registered under the authority of Kahnawake and operates with the Merge gaming network under official registration in Malta. The variety, availability and big stakes have been the prime features that have engrossed my attention.

The Poker Nordica has the initial benefit deposit facility of a bonus of 200% up to a total amount of $400 along with a freeroll coupon of bonus value $10,000. The variety of games comprises the conventional Texas Hold’em and Omaha (PL and NL), the unique Seven Card Stud, Five Card Stud, the Razz, the five card draws, Triple draw and Badugi.

The graphics also promote 3D enhancements and customization functions for the extra game play options.

I have found that the traffic is usually around 8,000 during the peak hours especially with the Merge networking facilities.

There are whole lists of promotional events that facilitate the continuous source of income. The efficient customer support facilities are also a big positive for this site with prompt and instant replies.

When I read that this Poker pro is a former ‘rock, paper, scissors’ champion, I almost didn’t take him seriously. But on reading that he is an electrical engineer from MIT and a JD from Harvard Law School, I suddenly wanted to read more.

This former member of the MIT Blackjack team started card tournaments by playing small blackjack tournaments. His Harvard degree was also financed by his blackjack winnings. He has over $4 Million in live career earnings but has never won the WSOP. He finished second in WSOP $50K HORSE Tournament in 2006 and in the $10K Pot-Limit Hold‘em Tournament in 2007. His full time professional poker career started in 1999 and before that he had been sticking to playing small weekly tournaments now and then.

He has had two final tables at the WPT and seven money finishes. He has won some other cash tournaments as well including the Pro-Am Poker Equalizer in 2006. Andy is popularly called “The Rock” as his mental strength is said to be very strong when playing poker. He is actively involved in charity work and even the money he earns from Full Tilt Poker is put to good causes.

Very recently at the 2008 National Heads-Up Poker championship he finished runners up to fellow Full Tilt poker player Chris Ferguson. Andy is a very versatile player and has a way with card games.

I have seen how great players with their best strategies turn the tables easily. Many gamblers are now attracted towards poker. With the advantage of online tournaments even amateurs can take part in such games.

There are many such players who step into the game without knowing properly the rules and tactics and make a blunder with their cards and money. The professional players on the other hand always target the new player and take advantage of the unsuspecting “fish”. The beginner fails to show their calibre in such tight situations and loose the game. The poker odds calculator can only help them in this context. Even the master players depend on it for determining the odds. Figuring out the odds and understanding the game situations is difficult which demands a lot of time and patience.

The poker odd calculator can give real game statistics of pot odds, win odds, outs and even prediction of the hand of opponent players. Many people are buying this software and are getting immense support to win big amounts. With the increased popularity of the poker games, and introduction of poker add calculator, it is now easy to handle the complexities of the game. It acts like your personal coach who teaches you how to play better moves and how to manage the best wins. So stop thinking like lay man and experience the new difference.

Addington was the favourite in the world tournament and possessed $275,000 chips in hand. Baldwin was a tuff contender with $145,000 worth chips. Baldwin called a bet of $30,000, which apparently made the start of the bluff. Addington, on the other hand, called for a bigger hand to raise the pot value and showing his card strength. The turn ended in an ace of diamonds, creating the possibility of an obvious flush. Baldwin added an amount of $95,000 to the point, which was a huge bet. Addington was in dilemma as he could not decide on what to play. He was feeling afraid of loosing the bet and loose his place in the tournament. He thought of folding as that would keep in his hand enough chips to continue at the WSOP and took a hasty decision to fold.

An increase in online casinos has also seen a subsequent increase in the playing of no limit Texas Holdem in the online world.

Popularity of No Limit Texas Holdem:

Holdem is a card game wherein the player needs to use a five card community and his own two cards to make up a poker hand. This game has generated huge interest in mathematical and strategic analysts for finding out the winning combinations and to hit the pots. There has been an increasing interest in the No Limit Texas Holdem in the online world because rather than the traditional casinos the online casinos can handle the game better.

In the No Limit Texas Holdem games the player often get cleaned out and need to be constantly replaced so that the rake is kept lower. This process is considerably easier in the online poker rooms which can bar the player once they get cleaned out rather than the traditional casinos where it is terribly difficult to do so.

Game Play Strategy:

No Limit Texas Holdem poker is not suitable for beginners. This is because of the fact that the game requires a higher premium. The game is also very tight and aggressive. This version of poker requires that the participant players need to be good at manipulating the players than at manipulating the cards. For beginners to learn No Limit Texas Holdem poker it is better to go for low buy in’s no limit games because you will be losing only in little quantities while maintaining the game quality as tight and aggressive.

In a good game of poker a player can win a great deal of money in the long run by playing every hand. But a player might be able to collect as much money by playing only fifteen percent of the hands if he chooses to play wisely.

The position of play plays an important role in No Limit Texas Holdem poker because the decisions made have an impact on the stack. The player who sits farther back in the row has more information for playing than the ones who start the rounds. This results in players starting the rounds playing lesser hands and the player playing later plays more hands in the game.

Starting Handles:

The game of No Limit Texas Holdem Poker is very much interesting because of the many numerical possibilities it proposes. The starting hand for No Limit Texas Holdem Poker is only two cards. There are about 1326 two card combinations which can be obtained from a card deck of fifty two cards. Many of these card pairs would be of equal values. Hence by eliminating all of these it is possible to narrow down to 169 distinct card pair combinations.

Because of this combination the starting combinations have been narrowed down to 169. These many numbers of combinations means an equal number of strategies that need to be worked out. The strength of these cards differs in each type of game. The priorities vary in games which are played as cash or as tournament games.

Numerous possible combinations and winning strategies make the No Limit Texas Holdem Poker one of the most proffered game play in the casinos. There are several books which elaborate on all the details of the combinations.

The ultimate goal in the Omaha high low online poker is to scoop the whole jackpot. This is very much possible. You normally have four cards in your hand when you are playing this online game. You can now use a combination of any two of them for the high as well as the low hand. You may also use any two cards for the high and then choose to use two other different cards for the low or even try using the same cards for both the high as well as the low. You can look at hitting the jackpot by simply having the best cards for both the high as well as the low. However you do not need to worry if you have the best high and no low hand at all in this online poker game. Below are some online poker tips and poker strategy that may prove to be useful to your game of poker.

Starting hands

It is necessary that the four cards that you have in your hand are well coordinated. You will want cards that can form straights, a full house or a flush. Some of the players think that they just need any four cards to win the game and hence see every flop. Such a sign is the visibility of a player who always loses. So do not play with any four cards in your hand. This is the most important online poker tip. The best thing that you can have at hand to start the game would be a AA23 which is double suited. This however is very rare and can not be got easily.

The importance of the ace

An ace is a very important card in your hand. One of the online poker tips is to continue playing even if you do not have an ace but have a combination like a QJT9. Do not ever play without having an ace in your hand in case you are playing a low hand. This is for the only reason that the ace has a dual nature of being the boss low card as well as the boss high card.

Playing before the flop

Here are a few poker strategies for this game. The pre flop of the Omaha high low is in fact very straight forward. You can raise and also re raise with the hands that are aiming very high. You might have noticed that these hands many a times play better when there are fewer players in the pot. So you can go on raising to narrow down this field. The low only hands can only play well when the field is large. Basically when you do this you are looking at hitting only half a pot so you do expect the pot to have a number of players and also be big. So just go on with these hands. There is a poker strategy for this game and it is to call when many players have called already and you are in a late position.
